The tour will be operated by a modern air-conditioned bus departing from opposite Larissis station at 07:30 am. The journey takes approximately 5 hours (with a 20 min refreshment stop) You will spend 5 hours in destination visiting Meteora and then return to Athens (arrival at approximately 11:00pm). Your guide will meet you in the town of Kalambaka and take you to the medieval monastery complex, which sits perched high atop sandstone cliffs and is honored by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It’s a wonderful way to experience one of Greece’s most breathtaking and off-the-beaten-path cultural treasures.

  • Few days before the activity, you will receive an e-mail with the train e-tickets.
  • The train for Kalambaka departs from the Athens rail station. You need to go at the rail station on your own at 07:00 having your train tickets with you.
Know before you go
  • For the entrance to the monasteries, appropriate clothing is required. Ladies should not wear short skirts and must have long sleeves. Men are not allowed to wear shorts.
  • You can reach the Athens Railway Station by metro. You need to get off at the Larissis Metro Station.
